I hope you all are doing the best you can in these times. Until these dark days are done, life will continue to be hard. Starting a business, seems, especially so. Despite that, I want 2021 to be better. I am laying the groundwork now!
I have decided to focus on 2 things this next year. Wedding Photography and Boudoir Photography. I have made advertising accounts on WeddingWire.com and theKnot.com to hopefully gain some more wedding traction this year. More exciting though, I have a boudoir shoot this week!
I have reserved the presidential suite at the Alex Johnson Hotel and scheduled 3 models who are soon to be featured, here, on my website/blog. I am very excited. No money is being made nor is there a purpose other than to have fun and portfolio build. With that said I have dropped about 350$ between the room and some minor equipment. EEK!!! Not the best short term ROI but this is the year for risk taking at least so I have resolved!
Spreading out my models to help with social distancing, I have three concepts planned as the afternoon turns into night. My first model Amarra, who I have worked with before, will be shot using mostly natural light and exploring some more radical posing; provided that there will be enough. If not, that's what LEDs are for!
My second model, Rachel, should be arriving closer to sunset. I have never worked with her before so I will be relying on what I know best. Strobes and Softboxes! HUZZAH!!! Luckily The room we will be in is very spacious and has flat-ish white ceilings for all the light bouncing.
Coming in later and after dark is my good friend Ash. We have known each other since high school so I am very excited to see her. I know the types of things she is into and can't wait to see what we come up with together!
